HADITHI - HADITHI

Hadithi - Hadithi translates from Swahili to English to mean "a story, a story".
It is said at the beginning of a tale, the Swahili equivalent to "once upon a time".
The title is used as a reference to the idea of Zap.
Zap is an exercise of individual and collaborative creativity and storytelling. The artist becomes the orator, capturing ones attention not only be weaving a tale, but also by leaving bits unfinished for those who are to follow to tweak, contort or revise as they see best fit.
Rules of narration both visual and verbal are followed and broken at the same time. The story changes as much as the imagination and techniques implemented by each artist.
It makes sense and does not make sense.
The protagonist undergoes a complete cultural and physical metamorphosis without much explanation, meanders through different settings in pursuit of his missing finger, and as soon as his journey starts, it ends.
It is the first of hopefully many tales to follow, and is available in zine format at http://ifreecanscollective.bigcartel.com/.

Welcome to Zap !
